Hey what do you mean by that . I mean i agree that killua is obviously one of the best but just because he is perfect doesn't make gon any less likable. I mean agressiveness is common among humans. Killua can maintain his calm because he is a trained Assassin but it's not the same case for gon. He is doing what anyone would do in that situation. Would you ever forgive or try to believe someone easily if he has tortured/harmed your friends or someone you respect the most? No right?
It's same for gon.

What makes Gon's rage signals so brilliant is how it's been foreshadowed lightly throughout the previous arcs before.

Gon has trouble when his opponents suddenly start to show empathy or capacity for remorse. In the Yorknew City Arc, Gon didn't hate the Phantom Troupe, but after he learned that Nobunaga showed remorse towards Uvogin, he started to hate them because they are capable of empathy and Gon doesn't believe that people who are capable of such should commit actions that are evil.

So, when Pitou showed how deeply he wants to commit to the task of healing Komugi BECAUSE Meruem told him so, Gon got extremely confused because this was not only an act of loyalty but an act of caring. And as such, if someone who is suddenly loyal and caring, lies in front of Gon, then why did Pitou do all those things to Kite when Pitou is capable of remorse and caring, apparently?

That's the dilemma that Gon is facing.

There is also a dialouge, Where Kite says something like, I wonder what you will do when one of the ants care for their friends. I don't remember the exact phrase he says

finally someone who understands his character and doesnt hate on him only because he said some "bad" words to Killua. Killua fans are so simpleminded and biased its annoying af.

I also remembered Kite saying something about the Ants being capable of emotions in which it could become Gon's greatest weakness despite his talent.

Clearly shows his simple-mindedness, but he's just a kid after all.

We have really come a long way it's all serious now what was once a funny, adventurous and a regular Shounen anime with the protagonist chasing after his dreams with his friends.

You can't understanding anything about Gon right now man. Gon was supposed to be a kind and forgiving character like Goku and Naruto but Gon advised kurapika about revenge when it is about family and clan, and now gon lose himself because of revenge that about someone he just and barely knows. He is changed so much and the thing I am hating most about Gon is the way he is hurting killua's feeling 😔

Gon has been like this since the start, this is just an extreme situation, because he was so powerfess to do anything he's also taking out his anger of himself at Pitou. But realistically he got similarly angry at Nobunaga in Yorknew when he cried for Uvogin. Because the Phantom Troupe did evil things despite having empathy. Gon isn't realizing he himself is currently doing the same thing, because Neferpitou was supposed to be an evil thing that killed Kaito for Gon to take out his anger on, but clearly isn't. I think if the Phantom troupe had killed Kurapika after Uvogin's death, Gon's reactioon would have been more or less the same. It's just that this is the first time Gon has experienced loss in this seriees.

See, Gon is compassionate. He thought Pitou was just a heartless monster who enjoyed toying with Kite. And that's the truth.

However, he can't comprehend why Pitou is suddenly caring for Komugi. Killua tried to explain it, but Gon's irrationality driven by his endless rage doesn't let him accept that fact quite well. As a matter of fact, it further adds to his rage as to why Pitou would show remorse and caring when he did all those things to Kite.

It's fucking unreal that Gon was the second role this voice actress ever did. Megumi Han is simply legendary.

Gon in this series of dialogues is the best voice acting in the series imo. Maybe the best I've heard, although part of it is because the scene and writing set it up so well. Still the fact the delivery shines through everything else just speaks volumes for Megumi Han's performance here.

A bit of a side note, but in the English dub Sarah Williams carried Pitou in this scene actually really well iirc.

Nope, during a friendship, a real friendship, sometimes there is a time where a friend hurt each other. But that won't create a wall in the friendship itself. Same with Gon and Killua, this kind of thing wont create a wall, their friendship are not that simple.

She already stated the reason for healing komugi was pretty simple, komugi is someone special to whom he serves. That is very clear to understand. But here Gon is drunk on revenge that he's not ready to understand a thing.
